Sale Announcement Email Examples

Last updated: October 4, 2026

These sale announcement email examples follow a storewide or category sale from the first teaser to the days after it ends: subscriber early access, the launch announcement, reminders that show what's on sale, the last day or an extension, and a follow-up for people who missed out. For each email you get the subject, the preview line, the full copy and when to send it.

Sale Teaser and Early Access Emails

Sent in the run-up to the sale. A teaser shares the dates and what's included, while early access gives subscribers and past buyers first pick of sizes and stock.

Thanks for reading,
[founder name]

Use only when you really have too much of one product. Send it as plain text from the founder's name, and no more than once a season so it stays believable.

Sale Reminder Emails

Sent mid-sale to people who haven't ordered yet. Instead of repeating the launch email, show what's selling, what's running low and clear up the questions that stall a checkout.

Preview: Returns on sale items, delivery times, combining codes and paying full price last week.
Hi [first name],
Every sale brings the same handful of questions, so here are the answers in one place:
Can I return sale items? Yes, within [number] days, like any other order.
When will my order ship? Usually in [number] working days, though a busy sale can add one more.
Can I add another discount code? No, sale prices don't stack with other codes.
I paid full price last week. Can I get the difference? Yes. Send us your order number before [date] and we'll refund it.
[Back to the Sale]
Hope that helps,
[Store name]
Send on day two or three to people who clicked through from a sale email without buying. Rewrite the answers so they match your actual return and price-adjustment rules.

[Shop the Final Hours]
Until next time,
[Store name]

Sale Extension With a Reason

Subject: Sale extended to [day], and here's why
Preview: Same prices for [number] more days, then it really does end.
Hi [first name],
We're extending our sale until [day] at [time].
The reason: [the real reason, such as a shipment that arrived late and left popular sizes out of stock]. We'd rather give everyone a fair chance than stick to the original date.
Nothing else changes: same [discount] off, same returns policy, same free shipping over [amount].
We won't extend it again. On [day] at [time], full prices return.
[Shop the Extended Sale]
All the best,
[Store name]
Send on the morning the sale was meant to end, and only for a genuine reason. Extend once, by 24 to 72 hours, or future deadlines stop being believed.
